The Purpose of the "Walls to Bridges" program is to change participant habits to meet ideas by developing a better understanding of themselves and others. Our objective is to knock down walls of ignorance and build bridges of understanding between people. We emphasize the importance of bringing people together in a civil society.

The "Wall to Bridges" program is designed to be used in grades 7th through 12th. It is also for classes that involve human relationships.

The "Walls to Bridges" program encourages participants to work in depth on a philosophy that brings people of diversity together for a common cause.

The objective is to find out what influence, if any, this program might have on thinking and behavior. The discussion questions are at a level to which the participants can understand and respond. Participants are permitted to arrive at conclusions by soliciting opinions from each other. The instructor establishes an environment where participants can be at ease.

The participants become cognizant of the fact that, the way they interact with others determines either positive or negative responses. They learn that coming together in a spirit of understanding is an honorable accomplishment for participants of all beliefs.

Participants are eager to take the message of democratic tolerance and mutual respect to other participants because they feel there is a significant message to share.

One goal is to improve the character of participants including teaching respect, tolerance and compassion. These teachings are fundamental to the content and skills developed in "Walls to Bridges."

Through a series of insightful questions participants are motivated to build their own framework of understanding on a multitude of concepts centering on the similarity of cultures. Recognizing similarities is an effective way to bring people together and make them feel included. The most fundamental understanding we can recognize is that we are all human.

Our slogan is "You treat people like people, for no other reason than they are people and that is reason enough."

This program is a delicate balance between philosophy and historical research. The focus is on giving the participants insight into honorable ways of working with each other in school and in their world beyond the classroom.

"Walls to Bridges" contributes to changing minds regarding the bias, bigotry, racism and hatred that exists in the world today. Bias, bigotry, racism and hatred are based on misunderstanding.

Walls to Bridges was developed to apply the concept that, "Ideas are like children, there are none so wonderful as your own."

We strongly recommend this program to schools, administrators, instructors, people of faith, employers with employees and all who understand the importance of bringing people together to establish a civil society.

This program is designed for 10-30 participants and requires two-five hours of time, depending on the backgrounds of the participants.
